Katy Trail Ice House

They say everything is big in Dallas, and the Katy Trail Ice House epitomizes that. From giant beers from more than 50 taps, a cornhole game set up in the back, and huge tables to accommodate large parties, you can be with all your friends come game day. If you don’t want to leave your pup, you can bring him along too, since this is one of the city’s few pet-friendly bars.

The Skellig

A huge, O-shaped bar graces the center of the joint, as well as a sprawling heated patio Sister restaurant to Old Monk and Idle Rich, their pub-style menu is loaded up with the good stuff: fried chicken and biscuits, a “beer companion” (comes with jalapeño cheese brats, salami, cheese, pretzel bread, mustard and piccalilli), and, of course, fish and chips. The Double Stack burger is a lovable fast food homage.

Fort Worth

Dutch’s Hamburgers

Named after legendary TCU coach Leo “Dutch” Meyer, Dutch’s is a lively University-area hangout known for its fresh-ground, all-natural, juicy-not-greasy burgers. Chicken, mushroom, and veggie-patty sandwiches are also available. All are piled high with your choice of toppings and add-ons—try the Texas-style chili—and come with home-style fries, onion rings, or tater tots.

Whiskey and Rye

This great neighborhood bar features regional draft beers from Rahr & Sons Brewery, HD TVs and live entertainment. The oversized leather chairs and complimentary pool tables will soon have you calling the staff by name. Whether you are visiting the Omni Fort Worth Hotel on business or leisure, you will find Whiskey & Rye a great place to relax and grab a bite to eat.

Little Woodrow’s — various locations

This Texas sports bar has seven locations in Houston, each of which offers TVs with the essential channels for any real sports fan. Not every Little Woodrow’s offers food, but you’re more than welcome to bring your own or order from any other spot. Be sure to check out any special events as most locations organize things like Yappy Hour with free dog treats, Trivia and Big Ass Beers, and even a Turtle Race at their Midtown location.

Christian’s Tailgate — various locations

Christian’s Tailgate has four locations in Houston — Downtown, Midtown, the Heights, and the Energy Corridor — so you’ll likely find one close to your home. Voted best burger in town, this sports bar offers more than just some screens to watch the Super Bowl game. Each location has its own events like steak night, karaoke, and live music from more seasoned artists.

San Antonio

Fast Eddie’s Sports Tavern and Social Club
